In my house we currently have Comcast cable, they handle our TV, Phone, and Internet. My brother is thinking of switching to a qwest package that includes DirectTV, phone and DSL internet for about a $80 a month savings.
Pros of this change:
We get a shitload more HD channels(around 100) and to be honest when I am flipping channels I do not even look at the standard channels anymore
You can pause a show you are watching in one room and resume it in another...this is a nice feature since we watch tv on 3 levels of the house.
Land line Phone is not internet based and not subject to outages(if the power grid for my area goes out we lose phone with comcast)
Cons:
DSL on provides 5 MB download and 1.5 up for our area.
When the weather is bad the satellite goes out.
I think I have the power to veto this decision since I transfered his entire DVD collection of almost 200 dvds(which now rest peacefully in my closet) to a server I built for exactly that purpose and to which I upload every movie that I like that is not already on the server(I am a dirty pirate...do not tell hollywood). In the end if we go with direct tv and I do not like the performance of DSL I may end up just paying for cable internet but I would like to hear anyone elses experice with DSL vs Cable.

I was looking at the new recruit-a-friend reward, which is a cool 2 person flying mount rocket, but the cost for a new player to start this game is really expensive.
Currently if you want to start playing you need:
Original WoW: - 19.99 TBC expansion - 29.99 WotLK expansion - 39.99
More than $90's after taxes.
If WotLK drops to 29.99 when cata release you are looking at:
19.99 29.99 29.99 39.99
$120+ to start playing this game
-
Let's assume a few things with this question:
1. You would have the technology to make yourself immune to physical and biological harm(think super cool personal force field...because you needed it to travel back in time) 2. You would have all the current knowledge of every library in the world at your disposal(tricorder laptop thingie) 3. Once at your chosen time, there is no possibility of returning to the future(or further into the past). 4. Assuming you would live for a maximum of 100 years from the time you arrive.
What point in time would you go? What would you hope to achieve?
I have a good idea of when I would travel to, how about you?

Jose Cuervo Christmas Cookies
1 cup of water 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup of sugar 1 tsp salt 1 cup or brown sugar 4 large eggs 1 cup nuts 2 cups of dried fruit 1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila
Sample the Cuervo to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink.
Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add one peastoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still ok, try another cup just in case.
Turn off the mixerer thingy.
Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Pick the frigging fruit off the floor.
Mix on the turner.
If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaters just pry it loose with a drewscriver.
Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.
Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who geeves a sheet. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one table.
Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.
Greash the oven.
Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.
Don't forget to beat off the turner.
Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the wishdasher. Cherry Mistmas !

Things I have noticed:
Inserting Attachments using the Moonclaw template do not appear for me in google chrome(not sure on other browser but I assume it is the same). I also have trouble sending PM's using the moonclaw template.
Things I am still working on: There will be a raid progression block on the portal page. The front page recruitment bloack and a recruitment form will be coming back. I will add a few more templates to choose from.
What other bugs are out there? What other options would you like to request?
